Hayden Panetierre: A Real Life Hero

Many of you know her from Heroes as Claire, but she really is a real-life hero. This past week Hayden Panetierre and a group of fellow surfers surfed around the bay area in Japan. Basically the hunters will gather a group of dolphins into the bay and trap them, once trapped they will stab them with their pokers. Hayden and her friends tried as best they could to stop it but in the end it didn’t work, instead she swam around in a blood-filled bay and wept as her surfboard came to the land. After some were getting hit by the hunters another actually got hurt, they just had to go back to the safety of the land. Unfortuneatly they couldn’t save the dolphins.

This video is crazy. I can’t believe how much paparazzi can just swarm around celebrities like that. That has to be very nerve racking for anyone. I am sure the stress of the swarm of paparazzi had something to do with the little fender bender, but also into video did you take notice to her holding her little dog while driving?

The Wide Range of Tom Hanks

2 time Oscar winner, Tom Hanks has been entertaining the masses for nearly 30 years. Born in Concord, CA in 1956, Tom Hanks was soon to become what some would refer to as a modern day, Jimmy Stewart. Tom made his television debut in 1980 with the tv series, LoveBoat. In that same year, he landed a leading role on a television sitcom named Bosom Buddies, showing the world his comedic genius. In 1984, he starred in the movie Splash, opposite Darrell Hannah, and proved to the world that a star was born. He starred in a series of comedic movies throughout the 1980’s and into the early 1990’s. In 1992, Tom Hanks landed the starring role in the movie, Philadelphia. This was the first time that he had played a completely serious role, and went on to win the Oscar for Best Actor. The following year, he starred in another drama, Forest Gump, and won the Best Actor Oscar once again, being the first actor in more than more than 50 years. Tom is currently working on several films, including Charlie Wilson’s War opposite Julia Roberts.

Boston native, Anthony Michael Hall was born on April 14^th, 1968. He began working in commercials, but landed his first television gig in the 1980 After School Special, The Gold Bug. In 1983, Anthony landed his first real movie role as Chevy Chase’s son in National Lampoon’s Vacation. From there, he went on to star in some of the biggest teen movies of the 80’s, usually playing the part of the “nerd”. In 1985, Anthony landed a spot on Saturday Night Live, becoming the youngest cast member to date. In the 1988 movie, Johnny Be Good, Anthony finally shed his geeky persona and showed the world what a hunk he had become. Anthony Michael Hall continued to act in both movies and television until 2002 when he landed the role of a lifetime in the USA series, The Dead Zone. Anthony has just finished filming 2 new movies, a made-for-tv movie, and is working on the film The Dark Knight, opposite Christian Bale and Heath Ledger.

Drew Barrymore Continues the Legend

Drew Barrymore is heir to the acting throne as the grand-daughter of legend John Barrymore. She first came to the big screen in 1980 in the movie Altered States with William Hurt. However, it was her portrayal in Steven Spielberg’s hit film, E.T. Drew Barrymore became a huge star nearly overnight, and by the age of 14 was known to doing drugs and drinking heavily. She continued acting, but made a serious comeback in 1992’s movie, Poison Ivy. From there, she showed the world that the Barrymore name was still synonymous with great acting. Her comedic talents have paired her with the likes of Adam Sandler, Luke Wilson, and Brittany Murphy. Drew Barrymore also worked as a producer of the Charlie’s Angels movies and has won a People’s Choice Award for her work on the movie, 50 First Dates with Adam Sandler.

Matt Damon was “Borne” to Act

Matt Damon hails from the city of Boston, MA and began acting in the mid 80’s, landing a bit part in the movie Mystic Pizza. He and childhood friend Ben Affleck have starred together in several films including Dogma, Chasing Amy, and Good Will Hunting, for which the two won an Oscar. Matt Damon is also an established producer on such projects as Stolen Summer, Feast, and the Project Greenlight series in conjunction with friend, Ben Affleck. In 2002, Matt landed the starring role in the movie The Borne Identity, and showed the world that he had serious acting skills. Matt Damon has shared the big screen with such names as George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Heath Ledger. His talents range from serious drama to laugh-out-loud comedy, and everything in between. Matt Damon is currently working on several films including The Fighter with Mark Wahlberg.

The beautiful Jessica Alba has been acting since she was the tender age of 12. She’d landed a small role in the 1993 movie, Camp Nowhere, but due to the fact that the lead female dropped out of the show, Jessica was bumped up. From there, she spent the next 7 years working on small roles and commercials, and even worked on the 1995 version of Flipper. In 2000, Jessica Alba received the role that would make her a household name when she starred in the show, Dark Angel. The series only ran for 2 years, but it turned this relative unknown into a super star. Jessica Alba has gone on to star in several movies, including Sin City and both Fantastic Four movies. She has just completed working on 2 more films, and is signed up for the movie, Sin City 2.

Englishman Jude Law is quickly becoming a huge star and a major heart throb. He began his acting career in his native England, but drew the attention of American audiences with his 1997 role in the movie Gattaca. Jude Law went on to act in smaller roles in movies like, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. In 2001, he showed his true acting talents in the movie A.I. opposite Haley Joel Osment. Jude can also add the term producer to his name, with movies like Sleuth and Dexterity, which is still in production. Jude Law also has acting credits in Spain and Germany, and has even directed an episode of the English show, Tube Tales. Jude Law proves that when it comes to acting, the world really is a man’s playground.

Brittany Murphy is no longer Clueless

Brittany Murphy isn’t just another Hollywood darling. She’s sweet, quirky, and very talented. Brittany Murphy received her first acting credit in 1991 on the tv series, Murphy Brown. From there, Brittany appeared in several television shows including Blossom, Sister Sister, and Boy Meets World. In 1995, she landed a role in the movie Clueless with Alicia Silverstone. It was apparent from the start that this young lady was going to become a big star. Brittany Murphy has gone on to star with mega-stars such as Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore, and Kim Basinger. Brittany has also provided voice overs in the movie Happy Feet and Good Dog, and also provides the voice for LuAnne in the animated series, King of the Hill. Currently, Brittany is working on the second installment of Sin City, and lending her voice to the new movie, Tinker Bell.

Sandra Bullock-America’s Sweetheart

Sandra Bullock is famous for her sweet nature and quirky style. She began acting in the mid 80’s, working bit parts in several television and movie roles. In 1992, she received her first starring movie role in the film Love Potion Number 9. Even with all her credits, it wasn’t until 1993 that she finally landed the role that would make her a star when she appeared in the film Demolition Man opposite Sylvester Stallone. Sandra Bullock went on to star with such names as Keanu Reeves, Nicole Kidman, and Ellen Burstyn. With her sweet demeanor and amusing wit, it was somewhat shocking when she announced her marriage to motorcycle bad boy, Jesse James. Currently, Sandra is working on the film All About Steve, in which she both stars and produces.
